Hin Areni – Areni Noir Reserve - $20

Areni Noir Grape from Vayotz Dzor, Armenia.  A delicate yet charming rustic dance of white and black pepper presents beautifully on top of notes of cherry and pomegranate with a silky, tart, well rounded texture.  One of the oldest traditions of wine making will bring a present fount of joy to your dinner table.

 Chateau Gaillard - Beaujolais Villages - $16

Gamay Grape from Eastern France.  To all creatures great and small at the Turkey Circus, presenting your Ringmaster.  A wide spectrum of instant fresh dark to red fruits are deepened by prickly green herbs and clean earthiness on a bright, low tannin, gulp-worthy palate.

 Domaine Pelaquie - Tavel Rose - $20

Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault Rose from Southern France.  Punchy flavors of marjoram, river stone minerality, ripe Bing cherry and organic earth crackle on a balanced sip with a touch more structure, bitterness and depth.  Indeed, a Rose that can hold up to both bigger dishes and even bigger Rose skeptics.

Goldschmidt Vineyards - Singing Tree Chardonnay - $27

From Russian River, Sonoma, California.  A bright bounty of soft citrus, green apple, and tropical fruit are improved by a hint of oak so tastefully done as to make Cali Chard worthy of a second and third act, especially with a certain big-ass bird and creamy sides.

 Vinum Cellars – Petite Sirah - $18

Petite Sirah Grape from Clarksburg, California.  All your wildest smooth-heavy-fruity dreams come through in this wine with concentrated blackberry and boysenberry jam, chewy tannins, and smooth texture, with violet, vanilla bean, black tea, and subtle smokey complexity thrown in to please Cali-philes and phobes alike.

 Tavernello – Organic Rosso - $15

Sangiovese and Montepulciano from Tuscany, Italy.  Whether it’s turkey, steak, a big bowl of red gravy, or just need some Tuscan sunshine in your life, this is your bottle.  Freshly macerated cherry and raspberry fruit plays with wood spice and sweet oak in a glass with both pillow-soft pleasantness and persistent welcomed tannic body.

Thanksgiving Picks:

Chateau de Ruth - Cotes du Rhone Rose - $16

Grenache-Syrah Rose from Southern France.  Picture your Summer drinkable pretty pink just put on a snug contemplative sweater.  Wild strawberry and watermelon bubblegum is made 3D with mandarin and ginger flavors on a palate with coating texture and radiant lasting acidity.

Site – Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett Riesling - $25

From Mosel, Germany. From working wonders for practically any dish under the sun to drinking by itself, no matter who you are, this is a special bottle worthy of your time. Juicy pear, Meyer lemon, and orchard blossom highlights gorgeous purity in the balance between stratospheric acidity and welcomed kiss of sweetness.

Laurel Cellars - Pinot Noir - $15

From Monterey, California.  Roasted plum and cranberry fruit fills roundly into freshly picked rosemary and a delightful showcase of spicy oak treatment. Perfectly pleasant and drinkable, keep an eye on this bottle, for it will be gone quickly if someone else is drinking it…

Bernard Baudry – Chinon Les Granges - $27

Cabernet Franc from Loire Valley, France. A stunning entrant into the lineup and a bellwether for the purity of French Cab Franc, rife with cassis, dark berry brambles, and a haunting signature of dried black soil and cigar box. The palate is generous and satisfying while maintaining all its focus and finesse.

Carraia - Orvieto Superiore - $20

Grechetto White Blend from Umbria, Southern Italy. Your lineup of vibrant and refreshing white favorites just got a massive glow-up. Spritely acidity and an ethereal light palate is the perfect vessel for lemon zest, acacia, juicy peaches and salty crushed gravel mineral notes.

Romain Chamiot - Savoie Apremont - $25

Unoaked Jacquere White Wine from Alpine France. Freshness and regal elegance hit their equal zenith with clean flavors of meadow flowers, bartlett pear, and every iteration of lemon on a clean chalky profile that will make you feel like a breath of fresh air that will make you want to take another sip before another blissful bite of food.

Chateau La Freynelle - Bordeaux Clairet - $17

Short maceration Cabernet Sauvignon from Bordeaux, France. Fresh raspberries, cherries, and strawberries playfully run through the glass like kids in the yard, with a soft vibrant palate and no obvious detectable tannin.  Not quite Red or Rose, but food friendly and fun beyond belief.

Fernand Laroche - Vielle Vignes G.S.M - $17

55% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre from Southern France. This is a wine that is quintessentially Rhone and confoundingly balanced. Red fruits, natural spice, and licorice, fruitiness, boldness, and alchemy of both acidity and tannin; all melding together with perfect seamlessness.

Chateau la Gorce – Medoc Cru Bourgeois - $24

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Left Bank, Bordeaux, France. This is blissfully grown-up wine to say the least, with black-currants and red sour cherry surrounding dry fine tannins and cedar-spice seduction. If lamb, steak, or meaty mushrooms find their way to your table, so should this bottle.

Evolucio - Affinitás Hárslevelű - $17

Indegenous Hárslevelű Grape from Tokaji, Hungary. All who love Gruner Veltliner, rejoice your new Eastern love affair! Asian pear and green melon flood the glass from start to finish, with elderflower and coriander creating a unique lighter profile that will drop some jaws from porch to charcuterie, turkey and beyond.

Schumann Nagler - Oscar Riesling - $18

From Rheingau, Germany. A hugely impressive take on this style of off dry Riesling is bursting with stone fruits, ginger, and aromatic white spices. The kicker is how those flavors get delivered on a palate with a squinch of sweetness eviscerated by bright acidity, making it vivid, dry, and drinkable to no end. Sounds like good Riesling to me…

 Bulgariana Gamza - $12

Gamza Grape from Danube Plain, Bulgaria. A sleek steal of a wine especially for this time of year cuts with tart yet plump notes blackberries and lingonberry jam, crackling at every other opening with sweet clove spice and cedar, with a scrappy light palate with no bite, and then a little bit of bite, in the best way.

Leah Ross - Pinot Noir - $20

100% Pinot Noir from Oregon. There are Pinots built for many different seasons, but undoubtedly this one is best suited for nights with a bracing chill in the air. A fuller bodied and fuller flavored delivery of cranberry and blueberry compote satisfies even before drinking, with an enticing persistence of sandalwood and tilled soil to draw you further into the glass like you knew it would.  A delicious wine indeed for the times, and comforts to come.

Moillard – Saint-Bris - $21

100% Sauvignon Blanc from Burgundy, France.  This little-known region in Burgundy cranks out seriously talented SB, with evocative notes of fresh cut lemon, passion fruit, green apple slices, and a charming robe of chalky minerality integrated throughout.  An electric yet balanced profile showcases these flavors with a round soft palate and a whip crack of acidity.  Sure to please any Sauv Blanc no drinker no matter what region you normally love.
