Nick’s Picks $84 - $94 Value
Brezza Dolcetto - $25
Dolcetto from Alba, Piedmont, Northern Italy. A delightful new dry red for anyone drinking or eating Italian, or both. Black cherry, licorice, and a kiss of white pepper play perfectly to fine polished tannins and a fresh savory light body. If this is table wine, we’re more than happy to have it at ours.
Anne de Joyeuse Original Malbec - $16
From Pyrenees Southwest France, this all-charming dry fresh Malbec is for French and Argentina drinkers alike. Plump juicy blackberry contrasts with violet, cocoa nib, and a subtle touch of vanilla flavor, on a palate of soft silky tannin and vibrant lighter body that doesn’t weigh down the glass and will inspire more to be poured into glass indefinitely. Fabulous for the price!
Domaine Pelaquie Cotes Du Rhone Rose - $16
Dry Rose of Grenache and Cinsault from Southern France. Don’t rule out Rose for this time of year. Crisp and refreshing elegance is welcomed every season, with light flirtatious kisses of rose petal, juicy raspberry, and beautiful bitter citrus on a lift of bright acidity.
Le Petit Pont Reserve Red - $13
Grenache, Cinsault, and Cabernet Sauvignon from Languedoc, France. Easy and cheerful with Frenchified flare, brambly blackberry and black cherry support hints of dried woody herbs and sunbaked earthiness, on a dry but soft palate of approachable tannins, zingy acidity, and a thin mouthfeel to entice to drink many more glasses than you were planning.
Entrecepas Black Red Blend - $16
Petit Verdot, Garnacha, and Merlot from Castilla, Central Spain. A delightful and uniquely delicious blend even before given the pretty passage of time, dried cherries, plums, and fresh coffee aromas open to a profile laden with sour dark fruits, well integrated fine tannins and a silky take on scrappy Spanish charm.
Anne de Joyeuse Orchis Sauvignon Blanc - $13
100% SB from Loire Valley, France. Mouthwatering zippiness and lightness permeate this entire glass. Lemon and lime zest whisper secrets to even more subtle notes of dried white flowers and basil-sweet green herbs, riding under the radar with a soft palate that jumps up right at the end with acidity refreshing enough to replace this with water. Make sure it stays in a wine glass, though.
